Exceptional Gaming Latency and Solid Build, Value for Money!
I am writing this review after using the boAt Rockerz 512 ANC for a couple of hours, and honestly, the experience has been above average. Here is my breakdown: 1. Build Quality & Comfort: The in-hand feel of the plastic is premium and strong. The adjustable sliders are made of metal, making the hinge sturdy and durable. The earcups padding is extremely soft and very comfortable for long hours. 2. Active Noise Cancellation (ANC): This is my first time experiencing ANC, and it feels incredible. When you turn it on with no music playing, it creates a subtle vacuum-like pressure feel (similar to high altitudes) that completely cuts off ambient sounds and wind noise. Only very loud external sounds leak in. It also has a well-performing Transparency mode. 3. Gaming Performance (BGMI): In normal mode, there is a noticeable audio delay (gun sound comes after the bullet registers). But the moment you turn on BEAST Mode, it is an absolute game-changer! The 40ms low latency actually works and completely eliminates the lag, making competitive games like BGMI perfectly playable. 4. Sound Quality & Stereo Separation: The stereo separation and surround sound effect are impressive. For the first time, I realized how crucial sound is in gaming. I get a real "battleground vibe" where I can accurately pinpoint where the enemy is, how far they are, and which direction they are rushing from. 5. Bass and Vocals: The vocals are crystal clear. Coming from in-ear neckbands, the bass doesn't have that immediate ear-vibrating punch out of the box because over-ear headphones distribute sound more widely. However, you can easily get that heavy thumping bass by adjusting the custom frequencies in the boAt Hearables App. Note that the higher volumes are extremely loud, so be careful with your ears! 6. App & Premium Touches: The boAt Hearables App is very useful for custom EQ and button remapping. Also, the notification tones (like the bubble-soft sound when connecting and distinct voice prompts for switching modes) add a very premium touch. Lastly, the AUX cable option is a lifesaver because the headphones work via wire even when turned off or out of battery. Verdict: If you want great build, zero-lag wireless gaming, and immersive surround sound, this is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!
